Gasunie has begun testing hydrogen storage
Gasunie’s HyStock Hydrogen Storage facility has begun preparations for testing. Over the next few months, Gasunie will investigate the effects of hydrogen on equipment, material, cement and the salt wall. They will also look at whether hydrogen requires different working methods and inspection equipment than natural gas. Samples will be taken to verify that the quality of the hydrogen remains high. About Hystock
Hystock is Gasunie’s first 1 MW power-to-hydrogen plant. It represents an important step in the upscaling of power-to-hydrogen technology. This pilot project converts renewable electricity into green hydrogen and is located on the site of the EnergyStock storage facility. An ideal location for this project, thanks to the future underground storage possibilities and the connection to the main gas and electricity infrastructure. Read more about Hystock.
